Suggestions For a LUSH and WET Chorus

Does anyone have any recordings of the Visual Sound H20 Chorus and Echo? I've been reading reviews about it and it sounds quite interesting, but seeing that its a guitar pedal I want to know how well it works with bass.

Alright, I did some testing today and I came home with a Digitech Bass Multi-Chorus. (Again.) I also played with an Ibanez BC-10 (too 80's), a Boss CEB-3 (you already know), and a Homebrew Electronics T.H.C. (Wow!). The only reason I didn't buy the Homebrew is fundage. It's about two bills and that's just a little too much right now. I will end up with one as soon as I can swing it, though. The "Width" control on that pedal is really cool and I can tell it will inspire me to use chorus a little more in my playing. It seems to alter the distance between the signals when they come back together at the output and makes it sound smeared, although the effect is still clear. Hard to explain. Anyway, the Digitech will get me through for now and I know it will be reliable, unlike my Small Clone. I would like to thank all of you for your input. There were a lot of suggestions from you guys that I still plan on looking into and I'll try to keep an ear open for others. Thanks.
Well, I bought a H.B.C. Three Hound Chorus today. First impressions tell me that I'll hang onto this one. It's way warmer than any of the others I've had and it's built better than all of them, too. If anyone is interested, I'll write up a review after I've spent more time with it.

It's something you might want to research, especially since it's built to be way more durable than Small Clone, and it's supposed to be way more lush and interesting.
I'm definitely getting one as soon as it comes out - I'm certain it'll surpass the Small Clone.

I saw those in Tayste's thread. They definitely look sweet. I probably would have like more EH stuff if they integrated better into a pedalboard. Their GIANT boxes left me a little cold. Anyway, it looks as though they are effectively addressing the issue and I will probably give them another shot.
For now, I'm still getting my head around the THC. It has more capacity for making "stupid noises" than any other chorus I have had, and the "standard" effect sounds better than the others, too. I would recommend checking one out. Peace.

I've tried many a chorus. I borrowed this from a friend and it blew the others away. Lush and thick IS the perfect description.

Alright people, I had the day off work today so I figured I would put the THC through its paces.
First, the build of this pedal is exceptional. Everything about it exudes quality and thoughtfulness. It has super solid jacks and pots, a heavy-duty switch and a very professionally applied finish. Also, the LED flashes at the rate of the LFO. On the inside, everything is neat and tidy and they didn't seem to skimp on component quality.
Second, the sound is SWEET! Just by itself, the chorus is very warm and clear. I guess it would be considered to be transparent. It does a fine job of "pretty-ing up" my bass. There is a HUGE range of usable tones in this box, too. It goes from barely audible to wicked detuned leslie. The LFO goes FAST! I haven't come across any bad sounds yet and it's not for lack of trying. My only gripe about it is that it doesn't quite get the super thick slow and deep chorus sound on it's own. With the Depth and Width knobs maxxed and the Speed knob all the way down, it's not quite lush enough for what I want. I would still say it sounds great, though I wish the depth knob had a little more range.
Where this pedal really shines, IMO, is with some dirt. Running a T-Rex Mudhoney into this thing is unbelievable. The chorus really adheres to every little nuance and harmonic overtone in the signal. Some of the choruses I used to have seemed to layer the chorus on top of everything else, while the THC feels like it is "among" your tone. For that reason alone, this pedal isn't going anywhere. Also, adding a tiny bit of delay gives the illusion that the chorus is deeper than it is, so it should work out for me in that regard, too.
I am still keen to the idea of adding a second chorus down the road for some super-lush type tones, as suggested previously. That AnalogMan looks like a killer pedal, so I'll keep an eye peeled for a used one. Thanks for all of your help and suggestions. Peace.

I use a Digitech Bass Multi Chorus. Its not too bad. The sound is pretty nice, but I don't have much experience with any others to compare. It seems to be built pretty well.
Only gripe with it, is that if you need to run it on a battery, your lucky to get a couple of hours out of it. I would consider it as emergency only battery use.

Digging up an old thread here, but as an idle thought, I quite like the idea of a delay time knob on a chorus, but that empress is a little pricey for my liking. In theory, would it be as simple as replacing a resistor with a pot, or should I be looking into choruses that have that optionand not even try to play with it myself?
Variable delay times can get you some really cool de-tuning effects. My favorite chorus with this feature is the EH Polychorus. Its also available on the Fulltone Chorus. (My least favorite chorus.) Personally, this not a critical feature for me. My Analogman doesn't have one and that's fine with me.

I'm late to the game on this, and bass-shy mentioned that one pedal he tried was too "80's sounding" so this may not be the best option, the TC Electronics Chorus/Flange pedal.
Real lush and wet IMO/IME.
Pretty much the standard for me (and most records for that matter)in the 80's & early 90's.
I'm gonna get another one as mine was stolen a long time back. For the mean time I'm using a Boss chorus with OK results.

There was a little thing that I left out of my "review" of the Homebrew THC and that is the fact that it boosts the volume of your bass. This isn't a big deal for some people, but some others might like to know about it. It sort of bothered me so I contacted Joel at Homebrew and asked him if there was any way around the boost. He told me to send it to him and he'd see what he could do. I sent it to him last Wednesday. Anyway, I just got it back today and the boost is gone, but everything else that I love about this pedal is still intact. I would highly recommend the THC to anyone looking for a great chorus pedal.
Homebrew Electronics has proven to me that they are a great company with great products and even better customer service. They had my pedal back to me in about a week and did a fantastic job of making it exactly how I wanted it. A lot of other manufacturers and business-people should take a cue from these guys and see how good customer service works. I am very impressed with the way I was treated and the timeliness of the return of my pedal. These guys rock. Buy their pedals!!
