Suggestions For a LUSH and WET Chorus

It is what it is. I'm looking for the wettest, most effected chorus on the planet. I don't mind whether it is digital or analog as long as it sounds good. True bypass isn't really important to me either, as long as it doesn't suck tone. It will be going in my amp's effects loop. I primarily want to use it for ethereal passages and segues between songs.......mostly slow and deep settings.

I have tried: CEB-3 Boss Bass Chorus, Danelectro Cool Cat 18v and Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus. Of these, the Dano came closest but not quite what I want.

I have owned: Digitech Bass Multi-Chorus, MXR M-134 Stereo Chorus, Visual Sound H20 and Electro Harmonix Small Clone. Of these, the Digitech worked the best for me. It was the first one I owned and I figured that I could find something better. I am using the Small Clone for now but it is giving me some problems and has to go.

The ones I am interseted in are the Analogman Clone Chorus w/ Deep Mod, Homebrew Electronics Three Hound Chorus, Pro Tone Lithium and Rocktron Deep Blue Chorus. If I go with the Analogman, I will have to find one used because I really can't go over $200.00.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Are there any others worth checking out? Thanks in advance.

Check out the Fulltone, as well. Very nice. Lush, Wet, and Full are the three words that come to mind to describe it. Don't have any experience with those others you're looking to try, so I won't say that the Fulltone is the best, but it's pretty darn good!

Thanks. I have looked into the Choralflange a little. It certainly gets great reviews. Like the Analogman though, it's a little out of my price range. Also like the Analogman, they are hard to find on the used market because they are so well loved. I would absolutely love to own one, though. Thanks again.

I used to have an H2O but I got rid of it because it was too subtle.

I currently have a Small Clone but I'll be letting it go because I've had nothing but problems with it.

I love my Analogman Chorus with deep mod. Very lush and thick, and does NOT suck ANY tone whatsoever. For that reason I'd never put mine in an effects loop, but I never use one anyhow so I'm not the dude to ask about that it would seem.

Eddie, you have a good point and I think I will get another Digitech. I'll use it at least until I find something better, if in fact there is something better. (For me, anyway.)

Nad, thanks for the clips man!! That Analogman sounds great. I would really like to pick one up if I could find one for a decent price. I'm guessing you wouldn't part with yours, much like most people who own them. That's what makes it difficult to find one used........especially for under two bills.

I guess my plan for now is to replace my Small Clone with a Bass Multi-Chorus, but continue to search for the perfect chorus. It's tough for me to try pedals out with my rig though, because the only fairly close place that sells any decent pedals only has a 48 hour return policy.....hardly enough time to thoroughly test anything.

No chance in hell that I'll have one anytime in the near future though...:crying:

If you really want to go lush, get two choruses and set them with different rate/depth; Y cable out from the fx loop into the two choruses in parallel, and use a Rolls MX41 to mix them back together into the fx return. Or use one chorus and follow it with some reverb. You should be able to put one of those setups together for under $200.

Had the Fulltone for a while, very nice.

But I'm absolutely gaga over my recently aquired George Dennis chorus/flange.

Don't know if it's extreme enough for you, but I know I'm done shopping chorus pedals.

Four star build quality and sound. $150 from pedalgeeks.com.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. That T.C. Electronic rack mount sounds interesting. I hadn't even considered rack effects before. It sounds pretty expensive, though.

The suggestions for the George Dennis and the Rocktron really got my attention. I looked at reviews for the George D and that looks like it is pretty well liked. $150.00 seems like a good price too, if it is as good as people say it is.

I was curious about the Rocktron, too. I used to have a Rocktron wah pedal that I loved. They seem to be an under-rated company. I might even be able to find one of those to try before I buy.

The notion of running two chorus's together is a good idea. When I find what I'm looking for, I might have to try that. I use my Small Clone with a Guyatone MD-3 sometimes. If I turn the time on the delay all the way down, it does a decent reverb. It sounds good with the Small Clone too, it's just not a good fix for a lacking chorus. It does make the Small Clone sound better, though.

Thursday I'll be heading into the music shop. I should be able to try out a few and see what happens. Maybe I'll bring something home with me. Thanks again for all of your help.

Whoa! That thing is huge. If it sounds as big as it looks, it might be the winner.

One more thing. Does anyone have any experience with a Guyatone MC-3? While I was checking reviews at HC, I noticed that this pedal got all glowing reviews. Granted most of HC's reviews are from guitarists, it seems rare for such a "cheap" pedal to be so highly regarded. Thanks.

I got my AnalogMan with Deep toggle, for $175 off ebay in perfect shape. I don't see them going for more than $200 very often.
I have to say that this is definetly the most well made pedal I own and it's so easy to use and get great sounds from, it was totally worth it to me.
