I tried searching for a similar thread but I couldn't find one. I've decided that I want to build a Frankenstein P-Bass from MIM Fender and/or VM/CV Squier parts. I don't have anything yet, this is only a plan for now. I'm trying to make something that is similar to late '70s P-Basses (think Dee Dee Ramone, Sid Vicious, Matt Freeman). If I manage to find a decent body, I might consider ordering a brand new Fender P-bass neck.
So before I get started, I wanted to make sure that most Fender/Squier parts are interchangeable. I've read that some Squier Affinity parts are not compatible with Fender stuff (for example the pickguard). If anyone has experience with this, I would really like to hear your suggestions, opinions. If you have pics of your own Franken-P, please share.
