Hi there
not withstanding one's own "natural" ability, and the presence of a teacher, what do you believe, with adequate practice, to be some of the pieces that a player "should" be able play after 12 / 24 months?
For example, starting from scratch, after 12 months a player "should" be able to play the first 10 etudes from Simandl 30 etudes book; after 24 months "should" be able to play all the 30 etudes, at the appropriate tempo, dynamics etc.
I am asking because there may well be self taught DB players that may be able to suggest what path they have followed in the abscence of a teacher they could afford or access.
Let me say though that a teacher is still the preferred option!
Thanks for reading!
