This is exactly what you are looking for, a Vox bass headphone amp.

I used to use a field recorder (Zoom H4n) for this--it took instrument inputs and had a headphone jack, and worked fine. Massive overkill for the job, of course, but if you don't have one already, they're great for recording rehearsals and lots of other jobs--they're real audio swiss-army knives.

The Vox Amplug had way too much hiss for me, but maybe my headphones weren't the right match for it, I don't know.

I've been using a Boss TU-88 for years. Sadly they are no longer in production but there are always some for sale on Ebay. It's small and has all the features you want except for EQ: aux in, headphones out, plus a tuner and a metronome. Runs on a power supply or a battery.

Edit: I just checked eBay and there's a seller from Greece offering these for about $53 shipped, brand new. So I bought another one as backup. There's a few more still available if anyone wants one.

What about 6 cartons of cigarettes?
My PJB Session 77 has an excellent aux out and the upper fidelity to handle Zoom calls, kids’ homeschool classes, guitar or keys if you want, quiet headphone play, or gosh darn it, the smallest of Covid masked jams and/or coffeehouse gigs. I’m practicing through it now. All for $100 more than a pack of Winstons, and as quiet as you desire....View attachment 4148618

Cool - I have a Rumble 15 that has Headphones Out & AUX in (via L/R RCA - probably an older model) but it really works well, but not portable.
