Cool! EBD2 HE or the EBD VAP is the best bang for the buck if you are going for the preamp. If you can find any Acoustic Image Combos, they deliver . Even the older Series III (which I have ) for over 12 tears is working like a champ and I treat it rough. I also have the Clarus 4+ head and with the bracket makes it a combo with my doubleshot.. In my experience though for live work, a piezo or electret like a Schertler is easier to handle. Mics for horns (which I also play) is less prone to feedback, With a mic the you end up notching )which AI amps have) or raise the low cut frequency so high you start to lose bottom end - but that's another topic Just do not depend on the mic for primary amplification specially if playing loud or in close quarters with the drums. I do not have experience with this mic. My ATM-350 has been modified into a super-cardioid but even so it still does not reject as advertised, but it's old tech. Thanks and I know this is an option - I'm trying to explore as minimal a setup as possible first
