Our 16 year old double bassist daughter went to Brevard last summer and LOVED it. It really put her on fire for bass and she now wants to go to a full-time pre-college program and study at a conservatory for college.
Here's the dilemma. She got into Brevard again for this summer - and is also considering Idyllwild since the instructor she met at Colburn and liked teaches there. At Idyllwild she would do the 2 week jazz program followed by the 2 week orchestra one. The price for 4 weeks at Idyllwild is $1000 more than the cost of 6.5 weeks at Brevard (only classical) - plus plane fare from SC to LA.
Any advice?
