Sun Beams Short Scale

Was just hoping to confirm this before I order a set for my SG Bass, which is 32" ball end to nut with the Supertone bridge. Looks like the Sun Beams measure 33 3/4". Should be good, right?

Also, do you think the Sun Beams will be a good fit for this bass? The D'addario XL 170 is my reference roundwound for this bass. How do they differ, tone wise? Beams probably somewhat mellower, I'm thinking.

What's the measurement from the ball end to the E tuner post? Obviously, they're plenty long enough, but the important question is how much of the fully wound part of the E string will end up wrapping around the tuner post?

The Sunbeams are warmer in tone and looser in feel (= more flexible) compared to the D'A XL Nickels.
