SUNN amp question

I was looking at getting a Solid State Sunn Head and was reading on Harmony Central that even tho rated for 4 ohms that you can not run a 8 ohm cab...anyone know anything about this.

The reviewers are also saying that the head is unerrated power wise ... anyone have any experience with these heads?

Which Sunn is this? An old one (Concert, Coliseum, or??)??

As a general rule, solid state amps will handle a wide range as long as it's above their minimum impedance. My old Sunn Concert Bass puts out 135 watts into 4 ohms, and 70 maybe into 8 ohms. There's nothing magical about it, if a solid state amp can handle 4 ohms, it should handle 8 ohms--though the laws of physics says the power will be lower as the impedance rises.
