I'm building a cab for a friend of mine who has a Sunn Beta Lead, he is curently using a 8 ohm Ampeg 410HE. I'm building a 2x12 using 2 Deltalite II 2512 speakers wich are 8 ohm a piece. What would be the best way to wire them? The Sunn has 2 4ohm speaker outputs, I figured that if I wire the 2x12 in parallel that it would be at 4 ohm's but with combining the cabinets that would result in a 2 ohm load. If I wire the cab in series than it would be 16 ohm and for the amp using both cabs that would be around 5 ohms.

I'm guessing the last option is the best one right? I guess the Sunn can handle a lot but I'm not really looking to blow out the output transformers on that thing.

I'd wire the thing in parallel. Is this for bass?

Yes it's for bass. But with the parallel wiring I end up with a total load of about 2 ohm right? I'm not the sure the amp can handle that.

  4. Wire the 2x12 in series. That way you have a 5.3ohm total load, and all 6 speakers get the same amount of power.
