btw when does subspace emissary really start handing over the secret characters??? I've got SOME and I'm 51 percent of the way, but it feels like I should have a lot more after five hours.............

You'll get more of them pretty soon. Many of them don't come in until late in the game (like Captain Falcon, Mr. Game and Watch, etc.). Sonic is the last character you get, right before the last boss.
By the time you beat the Subspace Emissary, you will have acquired everyone except:
Toon Link
Wolf
Jigglypuff
And to get those, you will need to replay certain stages after you've beaten it, and look for the new secret doors
Or, you could try getting them through other modes in the game. Almost every secret character (if not all of them) can be acquired without ever playing the Subspace Emissary, IIRC. It just takes a hell of a lot longer.
Does anyone think that All Star is a lot more tedious in Brawl than Melee? Just because you have so many more opponents, and I swear the hearts don't give you full recovery anymore.
They don't - the hearts only recover 100% now. And the Maxim Tomato recovers 50%.
They added more deadly items and reduced the effectiveness of the big recovery items.

I REALLY want jigglypuff... does anyone know how to get 'er? I beat classic mode with 5 different people cause someone told me you get her by just beating classic mode... it hasn't worked yet...
I got Sonic without beating the emissary, I played a lot of random brawls and I think that did it. I like sonic a lot, and Lucario.
