Double Bass Super Warm E string w/some growl and sustain

Could anyone recommend an E string that matches the above description?

I'm currently using Oliv E/A and I love the super warm bottom and the huge power it pushes but would love a little more definition as well as a little growl and sustain, not much just some. The definition is the main thing.

Can anyone compare the Eudoxa to the Oliv? How warm is the eudoxa?

I tried an Evah weich for a second. Definitely more sustain, growl and definition but compared to the Oliv it's like the floor has fallen out bottom wise. Next to the Oliv A the difference is very noticeable.

Velvets? Eudoxa?

The Eudoxa E is great, but very expensive.
The silver wrap (of the Eudoxas) was too "sticky" for me though. (maybe a perspiration thing)
Did you try a Flexocor '92 E?

Why weich? If you want more meat, I'd try orchestral gauge.

Eudoxa !! Realy love these strings. I used to have Eudoxa E/A with Gamut D/G. Before that I mixed Anima E/A with Gamut D/G. The Anima have more growl. The Eudoxa have enough sustain. You can play them arco and pizz. They have a wounderful deep sound.
Right now i have a mix of Evah Weich E/A with Oliv D/G. More definition, but sometimes i miss the gutsound of the Eudoxa's

Everything goes with a dead Spiro E string. I'm not being facetious. I'm serious. When a Spiro gets some age on it, it sounds exactly as the OP is looking for. Depending on what is being used as the A-D-G strings, there are at least seven different Spiro E strings that can be tuned to standard pitch, so surely one of them can match just about anything.

Reqular Evah is The E String, but the tension and feel is very close to another Voice Of God, Spiro stark IME. Evah R is warm, dark, growly and LOUD. You might like Velvet Anima, or Garbo, they`re both dark, loud and growly but without the killer tension. This allows you to mess with string height and playing feel more than with Evah R.

I had an Evah Regular on not too long ago (with completely different strings) and remembered how much of a monster it is! But with guts being so light tensioned I might be able to handle it.

I think Evahs and Spiro mitts have that low mid oomph but I'm looking for the warm bottomy,pillowy low end.

I have an Anima E en route and I think I might know a couple people who aren't using their Evah regular E's and might let me borrow one.

I also think a Flex 92 Stark E might work really well.

But I'm always open to new suggestions!

Can anyone compare the Eudoxas to the Olivs directly?

I tried Evah Req E with Animas a couple of times. I loved the tone but could`nt get over the tension mismatch.

Matching the tension will probably be an issue. I'm liking the Oliv E enough to not ditch it yet, just looking into other possibilities.

Super-Sensitive solo-gauge Sensicore F#

I've tried both strings and they have a deep dark tone with decent sustain and definition.
The Passione E is also nice in that genre.

Tensionwise the Evah Weich is very close to the Oliv E.
The down tuned Sensicore Solo would have a lot less tension than the Oliv.

The lower Braided strings need some treatment (bending over the whole length) until they sound good. Not a big deal, but if you don't do it the sustain is shorter and the bottom might be missed a bit. The tension of the Braided E is at least 2 Kp higher than the Oliv/Evah Weich E.

If I hadn't already sold my Bel Canto E string, I would have sent that to you. It does the "pillowy" thing, which is exactly why, for jazz pizz, I sold it.
