What was your experience like ordering from Xotic?

To the OP, not sure if you've given Spector Coda basses much of a look but for the money they are some of the most beautiful looking and playing basses you'll find. From a wood selection and finish standpoint they are kind of the PRS of the bass world. Check em out if you get a chance.

Personally, I would check out FBASS's...just killer jazz basses...lots of colour options

Your $3000-4000 range will get you a quite decent BN, BNF, or VF model. (You won't find an AC or ACC model within that range, perhaps on the used market.)

What was your experience like ordering from Xotic?

My exotic was already built and matched what I was looking for, so didn't have experience of placing a bespoke order. I picked the bass up via UK importer bass direct.
