Here is my vision of my dream bass, this was built by Scott Surine, and his company Surine Basses, out of Denver Colorado - This Model is the Quest NTVII 6-string, 35 inch scale.... There are several customization's to this bass. 1. This is a 7 string neck, however, I only wanted it to have 6 strings, specifically for the string spacing, and that is 11 mm at the nut, and 21.5 mm String Spacing at the bridge. I chose the optional individual SONOVA Bridge to then accommodate the custom string spacing...Also if you look closely the SONOVA Individual bridge pieces, are fanned out just enough so that the string pulls 100% straight to the Hipshot Tuners...this is a decision that I and Scott made over the phone, as the safe traditional way would have been to keep them straight, but I and Scott felt it would better suite the aesthetics of the bass, and to accommodate the wide neck, in addition to keep the strings straight and parallel with the width of the neck. The wood Front and Back, and Matching Head Stock is gorgeous Pale Moon Ebony over Honduras Mahogany core and an Ebony fingerboard on a 7-piece Rock Maple neck, with 3 Walnut stringers, this bass has a beautiful, rich voice with piano-like sustain and clarity...which is exactly what I wanted.... I chose the standard "Option A" Bartolini electronics layout, Hip-shot tuners, and Schaller locking strap buttons complete the instrument's package......The build took 6 Months to complete, and here on Friday July 1st -2016, Fed-Ex delivered this at 12:01 P.M - so here I am playing around with my new Surine bass, built by Scott Surine, and his company Surine Basses...What a dream to play, it is built with such meticulous precision and passion, I cannot say enough fantastic things about Scott Surine, his staff, and those that work with him and Surine Basses...I must also tell you that the SONOVA Bass Bridge / Individual saddles, are also designed by Scott Surine, and they look as though, if they came from Lockheed Martin, yes they really are that nice....I will be posting a couple of videos in the next few weeks...I hope you enjoy the pics, Thank you Terry
