I have a Carl Martin Classic Optical filter pedal and it bit the dust sometime around 2015 well past it’s warranty. So it sat for a couple years before I took a flyer and called East Sound Research in Denmark hoping for a miracle and they took pity on me and unbelievably issued an RA for it in October 2017.
Fast forward to 2021 and there it is, buried in a box with the RA taped to the back long forgotten. So, being the hopeful guy I am I wrote an apology note on the RA and sent it off to Denmark with instructions to toss it out if I’d missed the boat on this one.
They never called, never sent an email and today, well over a year later there it was in my mailbox. Fixed with a new input buffer, no charge.
I’m thrilled. They could have so easily said no to the repair or simply laughed at my 4yr old RA and tossed it out when it arrived but instead they got around to fixing it, filled out the customs forms and sent it back to Canada on their dime.
Sometimes hope and patience pays off.
