So I've owned some Peavey guitars in the past (a millennium 5 string and a foundation 4 string). Neither of which I really cared for much. Both just never sounded that good to me. Well, I came across a Peavey Fury (p-bass copy) and traded a guy an old SWR 210 cabinet I had laying around for the bass. After a setup, a set of new strings, and a solder of the input jack I hooked it up this afternoon to play. To my surprise it actually sounds really good. The neck is nice and straight and the pickups sound really good to me. As you could expect having p-style pickups, it sounds very similar to my Fender p-bass (to me). I'm pretty impressed by the bass at the moment. I tried to sell the 210 cabinet for a while and couldn't even get $100 for it so I feel like I got a pretty decent bass for something that was sitting around my house anyway. Now I just gotta find a different pick guard for it.....I've never really liked the white pick guard on a black bass......just looks a little too classic to me.
