is currently the bass i find myself playing the most. when i want to just grab a bass, it's almost always that one. it's totally stock, and i always seem to play it through my rumble 40. what can i say? yes, the squier bronco is cheap and has no fingerboard, but it's a fun little bass

I can see that! A functional simple bass, small light just easy to grab. I don't have a Bronco (maybe I should?) But I have basses that serve the same function

I play my Bronco with the Gretsch 2202 pickup a lot. It's light' balances well, sounds good, and has a really comfy neck.

There is something inherently correct and good about that body style and neck. True in the Bronco, the Mustang, and all its other variations.

my bronco is a pound lighter than my mustang, which you can see in all its sea foam green splendor peeking around the chair the bronco is on.

Something about "light" that just makes an instrument easier to casually pick up. Add in a comfortable neck and you’re looking at getting playing time

Did you ever get your shoulder problems (I think it was, iirc) worked out with the Mustang?

My Bronco is quickly becoming my go-to, as well. The neck just feels so right...

The redness improves playability and sound quite a bit. Every time I go to a shop that has a red Bronco, I'm in danger of leaving with it. There's something about the lightness and simplicity that makes the good ones seem very lively.

Here's my vintage Kay EB0 knock off, about 3/4 the size of a real EB0. Lots of fun and sounds surprisingly good!

I have the pieces of a Bronco, the neck needs some "trimming" to fit in the body for some reason.

I have it for sale here as a project. But if it doesn't sell I might tackle it anyway. Just need some good way to get the neck to fit, I don't have a table saw or router and don't trust myself to file/sand it accurately without it looking like a beaver gnawed on it.

Might be nice for an alternative that's a little lighter than my Musicmasters. After that cervical spine surgery weight is a definite concern.

I used to feel exactly the same however I have since seriously got into BEAD and the Bronco’s scale length is just too short/strings too loose to do that (IMHO, YMMV)

i had a brief period of improvement so i could play the mustang, then it unimproved. i still can't figure out why the bronco is comfortable and the mustang hurts to play.

it has no fingerboard - the front of the neck IS the fingerboard. i guess that's one of the ways they sell the bronco so eheaply...

how old is yours? i owned a black one and never noticed that the neck and fingerboard were one piece, so i'm guessing they weren't, but in the case of this bronco, made in 2019, there's no separate fingerboard. i assumed there was because every guitar and bass i've played has had a fingerboard, but one night i was playing it in a well lit room, wearing glasses, when i realized it was all one piece. strange!

No, hadn't considered that. Seems like I'd be back to the wild beaver gnawing again. If I go that route I did find a coworker with a router table that would probably do the neatest job.

The body has a couple dings too, considering a paint job too. It's all up in the air. Right now my focus is on the first gig after surgery this weekend and see how things go. Will be strange since I have a 10 lb weight restriction so can't lift anything, only plug it in and play.

Our guitarist loaned me his Beatle bass so I could play something after surgery when I was still sore. Love the 4 lb weight but I just always thought those were ugly basses.

Mine is a "Hello Kitty" Badtz Maru, which was made in Japan? Indonesia? in 2006? 2007?

It also is back routed, and has a pickup routing the size of a bath tub.

The neck of my Badtz Maru Bronco differs from the standard Bronco. It has more a U style neck than the Standard Bronco, which is a C style.
