SVP Pro Preamp...

J - you used to use this back in the day some, yes? I have an SVT-5 that I use for the bigger stage stuff I do in the summer, and I like it well enough, but I'm wondering if adding an SVP to the rig would take to my pedals a little better because it is more tube-y. Thoughts?

I guess to clarify, I seems like the SVP is supposed to be the tube pre section of the Classic head (that I like but don't have) and I'm thinking the the combo of that and the beef of my SVT-5 power would give me the tone of the Classic and the power to push multiple speaker boxes, etc... Is that a fair assessment?

It's a rad preamp - yup very tube-y, especially with the right tubes.

I own this pre and I like it more everyday!!

I believe I have a 5751 in the first slot and 12ax7's in the other 4. I am curious to know what tubes you have in yours.
