SVT 3 Pro worth repairing?

Hi all, I have an SVT 3 pro that I use as a small gig and backup amp. The last time I used it at a gig, I couldn't get much volume from it. So I tried replacing the driver tubes, and that solved the volume issue. But I plugged it in today, and it's now got a horrible fuzzy distortion on every note.

It's been in and out of the shop a few times for various issues over its lifetime, and this is the last straw. I'd like to sell it and get a little money to buy another backup. But I'm wondering what's wrong with it now and if it's worth repairing to sell. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi.

In order to cut Your losses (that's what I'm reading from your post), I'd suggest selling the amp as is.
Usually You can't recoup the repairing cost on any piece of equipment, IME only of course.

If that distortion is at a constant volume level no matter how loudly you're playing (very noticeable if you play quietly, buried if you're loud) there's a good chance it's crossover distortion due to the output stage bias being set too "cold".

This is said to be a pretty sensitive adjustment - maybe you disturbed it when you changed the tube? Because of the sensitivity, it's probably best to have an experienced tech do the adjustment (twist that pot too far, and you may fry the output transistors).

Another thought - did you change only a couple tubes (the 12AX7 and 12AU7 that drive the output transistors)? If they were bad, how old are the others?

It would be a shame to sell the amp for much less than it's worth if it can be repaired easily.
