SVT 8x10 cab; information requested

Recently got this square-back cab off fleebay, nice shape. The only issues; minor scratches on tolex, & three of the small metal "feet" are missing from the left side. (already located replacements at Fliptops).
I have not yet looked at the speakers, since I am waiting on a clutch head screw driver tip. They are very clean and matching from the front, anyway.
Also has the original dolly which is not so well-preserved but I intend to fix it up.
Only info I can see is the back label (in pic). A 1/4" jack is in place.
After I popped off the grill, at the bottom center of the cab is a small, yellowed paper label with this:
MFG #1SP009
Linden, New Jersey
SN 24551

I only have a few badly-lit pics at this time, but if anyone could tell me what year and possibly what speakers to expect, I'd be appreciative.
I will be able to get more detailed pics Tuesday night.

Thanks, Jimmy. :) I was hoping for something like your reply but I don't know enough to be sure.
The cab alone was fairly priced but after shipping - let's just say I didn't get a killer deal...but for under a grand I think it's cool if it has the CTS.
I'll find out for sure Tuesday night.
When did Ampeg leave NJ again? I can't seem to find that out...
My SVT head is a blackline, Magavox era (SN is: illegible), so dating it by the info I can locate, it's probably a '73.
It does sound nice with this cab.

nice! you now own THE rig. i've never been a vintage nut at all but there is no question those cabs sound way better than all the others. they all sound good but those cabs are exceptional. you'll forget about the money.

anyway, they left nj because magnavox/selmer had an operation in elkhart, indiana.

Thanks again, Jimmy. I appreciate the help.
After too many years, yes I finally got 'it' back, so to speak. Sweet sound and well worth the money, not to mention something to leave my kids when I'm dead.
As for Ampeg & NJ, I was wondering what year they moved...just to try to narrow down the year of the cab.

74. selmer left it there for a little while but when magnavox bought selmer, they moved ampeg to elkhart.

the ampeg book is in dire need of some updating, but it's still a great read about the history up to 1999. it seems to have hung by a thread the entire time it's been in operation. just a bunch of mismanagement, leveraging and borrowing, missing deadlines, and infighting. there's actually a good movie in this story.

I finally got pics of the speakers etc.

Question about the insulation in the cab. There are 2 pieces in each of the four cabs. It isn't fastened in place...I can understand that, after being bounced from the east coast to the west coast. But there's no staples or glue residue, no indication it ever was fastened in.
So, how do (or should I) do that?
I would guess that there are 2 pieces of insulation so there's enough to cover the whole interior...but now they are just stacked and flopped over on the bottom of each cab.

I have a similar question. I have been looking all over the internet because I have 2 of these cabs, and I can't really find what year they were made? One is like above, no towel bar and 3 handles on one of the sides. The other has a towel bar and 2 casters on the back/bottom.

I can't get pictures from my phone to here, but one without the towel bar's info:
The Manufacturing number is: 1SP009
Also Linden, New Jersey
and the Serial number is: 19748

The other cab in this thread was said to be dated from '69-'74, because of this serial number would it be reasonable to say it was from '69-'71/'72?

Maybe. My cab is a 72 and the serial stamped on the plate is 716204. The best way to date them is to pull a speaker and check the code. The square back cab should have CTS speakers with a 137 XXXX code while the towel bar cab (post-74) will either have CTS speakers in the early model or eminence speakers for a later model (date code would read 67XXXX).

I have high hopes for Yamaha's management on this next chapter!

Any new news on this?
