SVT help

Hey TBers I have found a 73 SVT head and matching cab Blackline in very good shape. In fact it is the best shape I have seen in this vintage for sale.

I am wondering what a good price would be for the set?

I don't need it at this time due to my beginner status and my Ampeg Micro VR is plenty amp for my needs now but I am just (pretty sure the term is) GASing for a vintage SVT.

Thanks for your help.

As non-supporting members, we're not allowed to quote prices, but I'd say whatever price it is, it's worth it. Really beautiful specimen, and that little stain at the bottom should clean up well enough. And while you really don't NEED one right now, your status as a beginner is irrelevant and you should buy whatever amp you want as long as you don't cause your family to go hungry.

Oh, and I'll add that those old 810's don't take nearly the power that the newer ones do, but they sound beautiful, so don't be cranking it as hard as you can.

Thanks Jimmy I thought you might pop in! My original thought was to get a old SVT head like this one and maybe have a Emperor cab built for it but can't seem to find this vintage head in this condition on its own! All the used heads seem to be the classic and I'm not to sure that's what I want? If you have any other suggestions for me other than just buy this one feel free!

I don't know how much this one is worth, and prices can vary depending on location. I've seen rigs in similar exceptional condition going for $3K and more.

When you see rigs so clean, more often than not they are all original. If it hasn't been serviced, it could need a cap job and possibly new tubes. So there would be some additional expenses. If it has been serviced, this is a big plus.
