Just curious as to what most SVT users do to send a signal to FOH. Mic the cab? Send a preamp out signal to a direct box?

DI straight from the bass.
Mix to taste. The soundmen I work with tend to use the mic signal mostly. I do the same thing when I'm mixing the band, you get the best of both worlds.

When I use my 71 or 73 SVT heads, I run the bass through a DI box first to split the signal. With my SVT-II heads I simply use their DI outs. Good point made about keeping stage volume down. I have plenty of SVT heads and 8x10 cabs and could create ear-splitting volume, but I know that if I exceeded a reasonable stage volume, the FOH sound would be terrible and the whole band would suffer. Use the PA, it is your friend.
