SVT-vr Static

Hello all.
Just noticing my amp is making a static type noise almost constantly. The static is very low and doesn't follow any pattern. Turning any of the knobs has no effect on it and the volume doesn't make it louder. Once playing it can't be heard and stand by makes it stop. I noticed it late last night and not sure if it was always there or not. I tried switching cabinets and it was the same. I also tried switching power cords the one that came with it had the ground prong removed.
Not sure if this is normal and I should just deal with it or have it looked at. I am going to try switching outlets and channels today.

Thanks. Joe

Thanks

I have had good luck buying from The Tube Depot and from Eurotubes. I don't remember what is in there for Pre Tubes But I would get one of each and replace one at a time . then you will know what one is noisy and be able to get rid of it. Also would not hurt to have at least one of each for spares just in case . I would not Buy Groove Tubes Just my opinion.

Nighttrain
I am just noticing your location, I grew up in Needham Ma. and was introduced to the bass at Pollard middle school for jazz band. I am now 49 and stopped playing for years due to hand pain. I recently got surgery on my hand and am starting to feel good again so I decided to try playing again. Now that I am older I can afford better equipment and much to my wife's dismay I have a room full of basses and amps. It feels like a mid life crisis. I would love to move back to Ma. as I have great memories of a fun childhood and a beautiful place to live.

Thanks again for the help

Any time feel free to ask . I am not an Amp tech but was a Radar Tech when I was in the Service and the radar and computer were all tube driven . So I know a little something about electronics and I have had and still have many tube Amps . But I am smart enough to let someone else work on them if the problem requires more than tube changes / Rolling.
