It's not a "clip" light, it's a peak light. It's suppose to come on and stay on around 75% of the time during normal playing. I've not been able to truly "clip" mine with an active StingRay, at least not audibly. I set the gain at 12 o'clock without the pad engaged, red light just blinking away, and it sounds GREAT.
I'm not even going to get into the whole "underpowered" thing...

I played my buddy's into his 810e once, (B2RE) and it sounded okay at best. I meant clipping light, my bad.
Anyways, his amp sounded like CRAP. It was peaking out and farting the entire time, nothing I could do would change it. And I mean nothing. EQ didn't help. I plugged in my head to his cab,
much better. I'd get a 3pro, but never ever a B2RE. They just don't have enough muscle for my uses. YMMV.
