Swans...

I well remember the first time I heard the Swans...I was working as a prep cook in Harvard Squ. and what I came to know as "Filth" came on the radio. Holey shite what a sound! I guessed maybe 2 drummers in a cavern and a bass with giant high tension wires instead of strings. Found the record at the Coop a day later. Ugliest cover ever.
M. Gira kept my attention through all his incarnations. Children Of Light at the Middle East down stairs was the most beautiful music I've ever heard. (Gira on 12 string etc) From the most horrific to the most beautiful. What A Voice and sound concept.
