At one time, I considered adding a 15 sub to my 15/6 as it would be the lowest cost, but then I'd be stuck with an orphaned cab. Even though we all think we are buying the 'forever' cab, everything gets sold eventually. Having fully functioning stand-alone cabs would make more sense if I were looking at resale potential.

So build a 15.6, leave the baffle un-cut... Personally I kinda consider my 22.6 & 12.sub as a keeper. With the possible exception of building a 1212.6 carcas and moving the components over... Then selling off the old shells.

After you get a new cab, and if you find the highs or mids a little strong or weak, try the EQ
A good cabinet responds to EQ's a lot better than a poor one.

I'm definitely liking the fearful cab idea. It's so funny to me how a staple "industry standard" design like a 410 can, in fact, be so poor and survive so long.

It is amazing, and a small modification would make it all much better. 10" are often used in line arrays, but they have a crossover to a mid/hf driver that aligns right in the middle. A 4x10 with a crossover to a single mid and hf driver would be radically better. And it would have the traditional look.
