Sweetwater commission on impulse purchases

I live in Fort Wayne, IN where Sweetwater is headquartered. I have many friends who work there, many as Sales Engineers. I am pretty sure if you're "their customer" they get commission on whatever you buy. I have purchased multiple items in person, without my sales rep even knowing I'm there...later that day, I always get a "Thank You" email or text from him. If they don't get a commission, they at least know you've purchased something, that way, the next time you talk they can say "Hows the new clip on tuner working out?"

I don't buy on impulse. I always use the warp drive. :wideyed::wacky::beaver::unsure:

Like many of you, I impulse buy things on Sweetwater. Do you think the sale engineer gets commission on stuff I order at 11pm without talking with them? I hope they do. Their customer service is a big motivator for shopping there. Can someone shine light on this?
not sure...but i'm sensing your joy. :D

My old Dutch boss was adamant that a visiting Sales Engineer explain what sort of Engineering he studied at university. The guy had no answers.

They're not really engineers, that's why he had no answer.

True, but I'd wager very few people care. If he actually cared that much to call people out about their job title, he probably didn't enjoy his own life all that much.

My sales guy, Phillip, is awesome. He has talked me down several times from buying a more expensive item to buying a less expensive item that better suits my needs. He has stayed on the phone with me for 20 minutes answering questions about a $150 lighting controller.

I hope he makes something off of my purchases. He's the reason I buy there.
