Switchcraft 1/4 stereo output jack soldering questions

hello,

I had to replace the output jack on my Spector Euro LX 4. It has the newer tone pump electronics with the trim pot. So I bought this jack:

Here is the diagram for the tone pump

The previous jack had only 3 cables soldered on it: 2 black cables (one from the battery and one from the tone pump) plus a blue one from the tone pump.

as you can see: the blue cable was soldered to the shortest lug, the two black cables were both soldered to the longer one.

Now with the new jack we have not 2 but 3 lugs, so I just took this page as an advice. The jack looks exactly like the one on the "chrome and gold picture".

I don`t want to re-wire anything, I just want to solder the cables and get my Spector back on track.
Now here`s my question: from my understanding I have to solder the blue cable to the shortest lug (hot), the battery cable to the lug with the middle length and the black cable from the tone pump to the longest lug (ground). Is that right?

The problem is: if I ask about it in Germany the information kind of contrasts my information from the english website, so I thought it would be better to ask some englisch speaking folks :)

The Jack you showed a link to is mono.

Assuming you do have a stereo jack, run the Ground from the TP to the strain relief lug, the Neg of the battery to the Ring (medium size) lug, and the Blue to the Tip lug.

Check your work by plugging in a 1/4" stereo cable, and test with your meter that you got the battery on the Ring of the cable

Okay! That`s the info I was looking for! I don`t have a meter at home right now, but I already did the soldering and everything works. But just to be sure: is there any possibiliy that there will be a grounding problem or anything else dangerous that I need to cross out with a meter?
