Switching Switchcraft jack with a Puretone jack

Hi,

I have been researching all over the internet + AI help but couldnt find out how to.

I have a problem with my original 9 pin switchcraft jack on my fender deluxe jb and cant find a replacement in my country. And i want to replace it with a puretone stereo jack.

So can anyone figure out how to connect the 4 cables from the original, into 3 connection points on the puretone?
 
that depends on what 4 cables are you having. generally the signal goes to tip, the 9v- to ring, all the grounds to sleeve.
typically the fourth wire is bridge ground, so it goes to sleeve.

as a last resort, you can test your existing jack with a multi-meter. insert a TRS plug and see, what wires end up where.

I can see the ground cable and the signal cable. My problem is (the internet's problem as far as i see) to figure out the other two cables, which are coming from + tip of battery1 and - tip of battery2.

battery neg goes to ring (and should be the only thing connected to it).

battery positive goes to your preamp, you don’t want it to be connected to the output jack at all.

Should i connect the battery positive to the same connection with the other battery's positive, which is already connected to the preamp? Making 2 positive tips connected on top of each other?

uhm, you have two hot wires from two batteries or two from one? if the latter, just isolate the second wire (electrical tape or heat shrink). if everything works out — remove it.

This creates 4 connecting cables at the jack input. I think this is the reason why people can't replace this switchcraft with a normal jack input.

ah, so minus from one battery goes to plus to another battery? just interconnect them with no jack in between. yeah, right, minus to plus.

don't connect the remaining 9v- to preamp (it should be grounded tho), connect the 9v- to the ring of the jack instead.

currently the battery is powered off by breaking the positive wire, this way it will work with breaking the negative wire.

You can't. You have a differential power supply with separate + and - legs. Your power setup is common for Alembic Series basses and others (including preamps I have built from Craig Anderton designs). You need a 1/4" jack with separate isolated switching for + and - because unlike "normal" preamps, it doesn't simply make the connection on the - side when you plug it in. The jacks are available.
 
You learn something everyday. SO based on your diagram. the Puretone will not work also. because I think even thought it has 2 tips, they may look like they are connected You need a jack as per your illustration . 4 pin with a long barrel . Neutrik makes them and they should be in the EU. Email Fender to make sure.

This will not work and may cause damage.

thanks for the heads up. Then i will order the same jack and connect it. so puretone is cancelled.

my main problem was a disturbing hum, especially in active mod which occured after i sent my guitar to a luthier to switch the original jack with the puretone. he told me that he tried to connect the puretone but couldnt figure it out so he reconnected the original jack. After this, my guitar had serious humming issues and little cracks whenever i touched the strings.
i checked the bridge grounding,
i checked the body grounding cables inside the cavities
i covered the preamp and pickup cavity with a copper band for isolation
nothing changed. Now the only thing left is to change this jack, hoping that the luthier messed it up. if this doesnt work, i dont know what to do next...

Thanks. I successfully connected a brand new fender 9pin and the issue is still present 😑

By the way, i attach a drawing and i wonder why this is harmful for the circuit. Can you help me understand?
