Has anybody heard of the system?

Yeah! I know Mark Diamond in Denver uses one and he swears by it. it lets you blend two pickup systems at once and adjust volume etc. The luthier who invented it is based in layette CO.

So you could pair a fb pickup, similar to a k&k rockabilly setup? I very much like that this would keep a preamp out of the way if so. That would be very practical indeed...

Kerry,
From looking at the design and making suppositions, It’s a two channel preamp for piezo pickups installed into a tailpiece. With two inputs and one output. Glasser provides the ebony tailpiece, while Bartolini designs the preamps. If you look at the pictures, the preamp is is blocking the tailpiece holes! So my guess is that the picture is a mockup or maybe you punch holes through the material blocking the string ferrules.

if memory serves me it's not made of ebony but some sort of composite. perhaps fiberglass. The thing can be configured in many ways. I think Mark's is setup with a Piezo (full circle) and Magnetic pickup at the moment. it has tone control and channel balance control, as well as 2-channel volume. i believe the inputs up top are RCA style, but can be adapted to 1/4" TS or TRS.
