My newest fix for my cab sickness came about today with my purchase of a somewhat gruff looking SWR Goliath III for $200. I appeal to the great Talkbass collective to get some thoughts.
First of all, did I get a good deal? Mind you all of the cones and the tweeter work well and sound great. I believe $200 (for what I believe to be a pre-fender SWR, see below) to be a good deal.
I would also like anybody's help in possibly dating the cab (to verify that it is in fact pre-fender). I am led to believe that it is an older cab because it's back panel has a quarter inch and out, as well as binding posts for a bare wire connection. The serial number is 40270 and calling Fender was less than helpful. If anybody has any insight on this for me, I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks!
