SWR LED clip light replacement

I have a SWR workman's 15 combo with the shelf-style cab. I somehow sheered the LEDs lights in half for the clip and limiter light.

I tried to replace them with some ones from radiohack that fit but now they're over sensitive. To give an example, I used to be able to turn the pre to about 2 o'clock on the passive input without the light going on. Now around 9 o'clock it goes off.

Any idea what type of LED this is?

I tried contacting the company directly but they never answered (3 weeks, 2 polite emails) and the schematic sheet doesn't specify the LED values.

Right now the quick fix is electric tape over them because my amp looks like a x-mas tree when I play.

Strange --- and someone in another post wanted the front of his amp to look like the bridge of the Starship Enterprise.

You may have to put a resistor in line with the leads; I know there are a lot of different LEDs out there and have had a little experience in installing custom ones for projects in the past.

Radio Schlack LEDs are maybe OK-enuff, but their values are all over the place I've found and they are somewhat inconsistent in ratings.

Call SWR and get a wiring diagram. That will tell you what you need to know about your LED. Also if there is a resistor on it or if you may have something else going on with it. Are both the LED's not working as before? You may just have the wrong LED in there.

Ya, need the schematic, unless somebody here with the same amp can check theirs. LED is a diode, come in many different values. It's possible you could've shorted something or broke something else when you broke the lights but if everything on the amp is working properly, you probably just have the wrong value. I'm with you on the Christmas tree thing. I can't stand all these ultra bright led's people put on amps nowdays, some with no function at all, other than to supoosedly "look cool", which they don't. I like amplifiers, not robots.
