SX basses

They feel like cheap crap to me, if I had had one as my first bass it would also have been my last.

To each their own, but I find the idea of getting a complete instrument shipped to my house for under 200 dollars to be nothing short of AMAZING.

I mean, its a whole bass! I'd be hard pressed to even attempt to find the parts to get a complete bass for $110, let alone have someone else put it together.

+1 I want to pick up one of the Douglas 6-String basses ($190) for modification. Change pickups & add tremolo. :)

Whoa thats exactly what i think. I gave them a chance and they were no good, bought 2 of them in a 6 month period both crap.

the most exspensive bass I had was 900$ and I mainly play J and P style instruments and they did not cut it for me.

there are some who have modded them and got a set up ect and they became great basses in there opinion, but I still would rather start with something like a classic vibe squier or perferably and old JV or SQ squier , but those are more.

Great minds...............;)

I could not agree more on the CV Squiers, they feel so much more refined that I simply cannot understand someone that would not spend the extra money and the SQ and JV series are even better.

haha yes:D

I use to Gig CV squiers, i had all 3 of them and they hands down are better all around then and SX.

If your looking for the best bang for you buck P bass try out a peavey fury . It is hands down the best P bass for the $, that is of course paying fair retail price . I know some people get vintage fenders some how for 80$ at garage sales.

Here is a great example, under 150$ shipped and an SX is 120$to my door.

Now Now...Mrs. Moon....you and I regularly see eye to eye on such things..LOL...if you were to play my SX's I think you would be very pleasantly surprised. I have two of the Jags, and while they are neck heavy...they are very nice, and sounded great even before I put new pickups in them, and, to me, they look much better than the Fender Jag basses...my other is the Ash jazz P/J, and its very light, and the neck is a nice tiny slim jazz profile. I know you had a bad run with the SX's, but don't be hasty...Heheheheheh. I will agree that the Squier CV P and J are better....but my SX's cost less than half of a CV....and I havent been impressed enuf with a CV yet to buy one. ;)

I've never met an SX that didn't have a log for a neck. Maybe you've got something really unique there. Personally I'd rather pay a bit more money for a bass that I didn't have to modify. With an SX, you get what you pay for.
