Symetrix 501 compressor amp and cab setup

I have a symetrix 501 compressor on the way from eBay. I was interested in thoughts on placement in my simple bass chain. Planned setup is Bass —> Radial Tonebone VT —> (1) GK 400rb and (2) Bergentino B Amp.

Options I have read on: Right after the bass (many stomp pedals), Right before the Amp (prevents peaks and lows), After the Amp (may allow the amp to color the tone to the cab more???). Is there a big difference in the rack compressors vs the pedalboard compressors?

The Symetrix 501 has a line-level input, so you would need to insert it in the 400RB's effects send/return loop. It won't work any other place in your signal path.

That usually the biggest difference between rack and pedal compressors: pedals are designed to accept an instrument-level signal, racks are designed to accept a line-level signal.

Thank you. Will it be the same with the Berg B amp?
