Synth pedal

OK, I'm looking for a pedal that'll do synth effects, like Goldfrapp style stuff. I'm really looking at the Line 6 Bass Floor POD, but I really want more versatility then that. I reallt dont play jazz, or metal. or RnB. So 9/10's of those presets are useless. I like the Chorus/Envelope Filter/octaver knob.

Ok, so if I could design my own pedal, heres what it would be.

Knobs:
Chorus
Octaver
Envelope Filter
Compressor
Distortion

Volume/wah pedal

15 or 20 synth style patches for electronica/techno style music.

Anyone have any ideas how i could get something like that?

I'm really not looking for something THAT versatile. Thats almost as bad as the Bass Floor POD. Just something small and simplish. That would be great. Thanks for the suggestion, and I'll look into that.

Having been down the 'Bass Pod' and 'Boss GT6b' route looking for synth sounds, and having sold both of them, I would seriously recommend try before you buy!

I found that the tracking on both units was extremely poor, rendering them unusable.... at least with my basses (Status). Other people might have different experiences?

I have found the 'BSW' to be an excellent little pedal and very, very versatile.
I also think that the Zoom BFX708 and B2.1u put the bigger and more expensive Line6 and Boss multi's to shame.

... Again others might have different experiences?

I just picked up a ME50B from another forum member and am mostly liking it, so far. The delays are good. The octave sounds are pretty cool and seem to track acceptably. Fuzz/OD/disto sounds are good, and combinations of fuzz & octave sound pretty cool, too. And, I very much prefer having separate foot switches for the different effects, as opposed to only having two footswitches and having to scroll up/down like on the Zoom. The synth sounds get a bad rap, but with enough clean signal mixed in, I could maybe see how they might sit in with the rest of the band. But, the envelope filter (T-Wah) is pretty bad, useless, IMO.

Mr. T, I will go into the shop and try out the Boss. I've already tried the Line 6. I love the Synth patches, but the other stuff is damn well useless. I cant use any of it. I just dont play those styles. I gotta disagree with you on the tracking part. Its pretty OK, judging from what I've heard. I just think the Boss is overkill. Thats too many effects. I just want seperate controller knobs for chorus, octaver and envelope. It really ticked me off that i couldn't have all three running at once, becuase as a electronica player, the envelope filter is my most used utility. I like using the octaver while playing with my back up bassist. If we both play the same bass line, and I use the octaver, you get a really cool effect.but anyway, I'll take a look at the boss...

moosecowman... I'll take a look at putting together a pedalboard of effects, but i much prefer (and its cheaper) to just use one multi pedal. And I just happen to be chronically short of funds. the meager amount of money that my band brings in is split between the 5 of us (sometimes up to seven)

jmpullen.....
I agree that the pre-programmed 'synth' Line6 patches track well, although if you investigate closer you will find that most of them don't actually use the synth modules???
I found that I could not get the synth modules to track.... again this may be down to my basses, although I have heard that many other people have had the same problem!

Quadzilla.....
I am glad that i am not the only person who rates Zoom kit so highly and not just a cheap alternative. I use mine with a Digitech BSW and a B**ringer chorus and can get way better sounds than I ever could from my Line6 or Boss GT6b!

(This is only my opinion and when used with my kit)
