... I'm helping start up an SOAD tribute band. I have more than enough basses to go around to dedicate to alternate tuning setups, so without having to use really heavy strings, I'm looking for recommendations as to what works well for C and C# turnings.
For the record, I normally use Rotosound 66LC's, 40-95...

If you like a .095 tuned to E, then you'd probably like a .110/.115 at C# and a .115/.120 at C.

What he said. I tune to drop C with 110-115. Using smaller diameter can become clanky.

Best of luck with your project. Every time I hear/read that band's name I remember the time me and a few of my buddies showed them such a good time after a show near here that the drummer was throwing up in a bucket during their performance the next day at some sort of rock fest. Their management was PISSED!

My band covers a couple SOAD tunes. I use Ernie Ball Ball COBALT Power Slinkys. Love them in Drop C (or thereabouts) tuning. Perfect tension and growl.
