t-bird tone

Does anyone know how to get kind of a jazz bass sound out of a Thunderbird? I play in a hardcore project, and like the sound of the Thunderbird, but I recently started jamming in a more mellow 3 piece indie band, and can't shake the thump of the thunderbird. I want more of the sound I got with my jazz bass before I got rid of it.(biggest mistake of my life) I'd like to just be able to get a jazz bass-is sound from the Thunderbird if possible. If anyone can give me any advise I would appreciate it.

Try doing 50% neck, full bridge, full tone. Or, all bridge, no neck, no tone. And throw some sizzley rounds on it, like rotos. Should take away that super funk.

But also, there are lots of jazz bass sounds. Are we talking JPJ or Jaco here?
