Takamine TB-10 Replacement Case

Greetings, all. Thanks for adding me. I have a Takamine TB-10 acoustic electric bass for which I need a replacement case. I have come up empty sleuthing the normal internet avenues. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks, in advance.

Out of curiosity, I tried my B10 in my G series HSC. Not a good fit, or a fit at all really.
ESPGuitars is the USA distributor for Takamine and may be able to help you. They were helpful with my getting a replacement preamp for the B10.

Says it comes with a case - don't see why they couldn't special order you one.

A rough idea would be around $300 and probably more given the unique design of the instrument.
Looks like they make a couple different models.

I don't recall any threads specific to cases, but there are threads regarding the B/TB10 in the "Basses" forum.
The photos above are from a basic google photo search for Takamine TB10 case. I like the contoured case, wonder if it's lighter than my non contoured case - not that I'm going to drop a few hundred to find out!

ESP called me back. He’s going to sleuth for a case. I’ll let you know what I find out. I also asked him about a shorter (replacement) support rod; I would prefer one that’s a little shorter. That thing retails for $800! And we ain’t talkin’ Yen!

Wait! What?
What retails for $800? You talking about the endpin or the case? Neither is close to being worth that kinda coin. IMO of course.

WOW, that's steep. I get that there's a certain bit of tooling involved, but, Damn.
Did Takamine change the endpin design? Mine retracts into the body and can be adjusted to any length. If you need it shorter, why not just cut down your existing endpin? A jigsaw and metal blade at Home Depot should take care of it - and for a lot less than $800!

My support rod is exactly 30” long. Looking at the spec sheet, I don’t see any difference noted between the B10 and the TB10. I suppose it’s 30” so one can play it standing fully upright. But I don’t play anything standing up. So I may cut it off. But…once cut…

Thank you very much for your patience. I heard back from our production team.

The only spec that we could get from Takamine is that the replacement pole that can be ordered is 75cm in length.

A replacement case can be ordered through a dealer as well. The MSRP on that is $850. The price for the pole is $800.

We were unable to get a SKU for the case, but you can refer "TB-10 case" to the dealer and they can order that through our sales department.

Holy Cow! I wonder if a replacement set of tuners also costs $800.00.

Some other thoughts...
If you don't need a hard case, maybe a soft but padded cello case might work. A couple years ago I gave away an old soft cello case. The guy that came for it was going to use it for his Dean ABG. Dimensions look like it might work, and considerably less coin.
