i'm giving this bass serious consideration for my next purchase - it's going to be my reward for going to rehab ;)

but i have some serious questions:

#1 why can't i fine one of these in Los Angeles? can someone help me with this?

#2 is there a way that i can strap it on like a guitar? i intend to emulate Bill Wyman's stance. i figure that an end pin can be constructed to fit where that long silly stick goes.

#3 what goes in that 2nd input on that preamp? a mic? what kind? a mag? ??

my fav bass player? James Jamerson.

#1 I would imagine they're not stocked due to the price tag. They have less acoustic volume then most ABG's so they can't compete there. And, they're not built like any other ABG. The neck is thick and the FB has a radius more similar to a DB then a EBG.

#2 Don't know who Bill Wyman is, but there are strap buttons. It also comes with a 30", heavy steel endpin, that retracts into the body.

#3 I have the earlier B10 with one 1/4" out. I imagine the second might be XLR out?

ok kids, time for your history lesson :)

Bill Wyman was the original bass player for the Rolling Stones. he was my kind of bassist. when someone told him to fill his speaker cab with concrete, he did! that thing must have weighed a ton! then he took a perfectly good Vox bass and yanked the frets. he held the bass almost vertically when he played.

my well wishers for my rehabilitation.

a lot of my heroes are in the 27 club.

one of the music stores that i contacted about the Takamine tb10 suggested that i could schedule an appointment at their store with a Takamine representative who would bring the bass specially for me to play. can you imagine trying out a new axe with 2 salesmen breathing down your neck?

i figure that my next step is to see if there is someone at Takamine who can advise me if there is one in LA.
