Last night, while bouncing around youtube looking for some comedy, I stumbled on this episode of Kill Tony and was surprised to see Tal Wilkenfeld open for the show, solo!

I don't know too much about her, so had no idea what to expect. But I thought her rendition of the US national anthem was unique and intersting. Also thought it was cool that the completely-not-her-crowd crowd appreciated it.

oh man… just rewatched… that is so disappointing! Kind of expect it from pop acts and big touring productions, but I assumed someone like her, in a solo context like this, wouldn’t need to resort to such trickery. Egad.

I'm not willing to assume the decision to do things this way was hers. Fewer shows are allowing live performances these days.
