Here's my "fun" thread for the week.
If your Bass was a car, what would it be?
A few days ago, I wrote a post that described my basses in terms of what cars they remind me of. Afterwards I thought about that and figured that I'm probably not the only person who thinks of their basses that way. (Hey - chicks dig the long ball, guys dig Cars & basses, right?
)
Anyway, I was curious if others think of things the same way. Here's my deal with the basses I own
* Barker BVB5FL: Bentley Arnage. Big, smooth, stately and classy. Commands attention and turns heads.
* MM Bongo: BMW 760. Powerful & sophisticated - a little oddly shaped, but sleek and electronically complex. (FYI, BMW was actually involved in designing the Bongo.)
* Aria Sinsinodo: MG Midget. Small, light, nimble and compact. (And its a convertible!)
* Yamaha BB415: Toyota Avalon. Quality with impeccable fit & finsh but affordable and not overly flashy. Goes anywhere in style.
I am now working on the last piece of my arsenal and what I need is a '57 Chevy -- something classic, time-proven, rock solid, easy to upgrade and modify, and instantly recognizeable.
What bass is that? None other than a Fender Precision.
