Talk Bass Legends??

Bill Fitzmaurice & Greenboy. I have learned so much from these guys on the science of low frequency, and cabinet construction ... too bad they're gone now. I know Bill left because of the smart-mouthed youth constantly arguing with him.

They're both superstars from the "Amps" forum.

Haven't been on these boards long enough to know all the TB lore. But some researching has informed me how pile-drivingly heavy this place is.

Arguably, the last 10 years of TB could be summed up as a blog about the hurt feelings of extended range bassists, peppered with passionate cries about how great Flea and Geddy are, and how awful Jaco was. There was a sprinkling of discussion about hip-hop baselines actually existing, with nobody seeming to realize that the emperor truly has no clothes. At all.

Add a Zon fanatic who slammed a famous NYC bass builder as well as Fender, only to go on to buy several of both builder's basses along with the fact that Anthony Jackson posted here a few times, it's absolutely clear that it's nothing but pile-drivingly heavy here. :)

I'm terrible with names... who was the guy who killed himself, but didn't? That was legendary.

And that young girl waaay back when, with loads of personality - she was one of the first video bloggers... dang, I'm getting old, My memory is shot to hell. I know some of you guys remember better n me.

bluewine is the one that made the deepest impression on me, what with all his creepy, unsolicited PM's containing his bar bands tour itinerary, views on the state of why everyone else sucks and his penchant for posting pics of himself in sleeveless shirts and chocker collars.

I liked how he'd always post pics of himself at gigs, regardless what the subject was about. He never posted the crowd. ;)

…was that biski?
IIRC, she only posted in OT. Not one post of anything related to bass, recordings, gear, etc.
Damn, Joe...you have been here a long time.

EDIT: Ooops, see you figured it out.

Some of the old skoolers that were very knowledgable, FWIW-
Ed Fuqua
Craig Garfinkel
Jerry Byers
Brad Johnson
Mik Walker
Marty Forer
Rickbass (RIP)
Joris
John Turner
Pacman
lump...who, after crashing the Server, became *lump*

…how about a guy that had his name converted to a verb?
That would be Bruce Lindfield. Blathering on & on became lindfielding.
Some good times back then.

Anyone recall Psycho Bass Guy?
The only guy who ever got me to lose it...
:)
