Talkbass Google Search

Is TalkBass Google search inop? I clicked on the advanced search link where it mentions "Try TalkBass Google Search in advance search..." or something like that, but it takes me right back to the advanced search page again.

Seems to work fine for me - I just pull down "search" and type in the box under "Search forums with Google"... Don't use the advanced search page, if you want to search the forum with Google.

When I pull the search box, all I see is a couple radio buttons, a text box to type words in, and an "a
Advanced Search" hyperlink, no google anything. I am using W7 with IE8

That's odd.. Here's a screenshot from my system, running Windows 7 and IE 8. Any chance you can post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Sure, here it is, can't see it in this pic, but mouse is hovering over the "Search this Forum" button.

On my system (Safari on a Mac), I get the Google search only when I click Search on the upper bar (the one that has My TalkBass). I do not see the Google search option if I click "Search this Forum" or "Search this Thread."

Try clicking Search on the upper bar.

There's the answer The google search option is only available using the main "Search" link in the header. Google searches are site-wide only and cannot be limited to specific subforums.
