Tall player, short bass

.... Anyone else here on the taller side who prefers shorter scale basses?

I'm 6 ft 1 in and I also prefer a medium-scale bass, though I don't think height or arm length has anything whatsoever to do with my preference. It has more to do with arthritis in my fingers than anything else.

6'4", large hands, Neanderthal length arms, 34" scale. Tried a uke bass once and it took me a few minutes to find it hidden between my index and ring fingers.

I'm 6'3" and my favorite scale length is 32". I often see players of similar height say that shorter than 34" is too small for them. Anyone else here on the taller side who prefers shorter scale basses?

My friend was 6’7” skinny, and played a Mustang.

I'm 6'4" and I prefer a 30.5" scale. It facilitates larger stretches, usually has more range than a 34", and sounds close enough that it doesn't matter all that much.

This piece is technically impossible to play on a 34" scale bass (just can't make the reaches), and near enough to impossible to play on a 30.5":

Another 6'3" guy, here.
I've been through a couple of vintage 30" Musicmasters, now. They seduce me with the vibe, but then I get put off by the junky hardware - and they do feel a little small on me.
I don't seem to have that issue with my shorty hollow bodies. Looks like the Gretsch is actually a little longer nut-to-button than the 34" P.

But then, I also don't have that issue with the mandolin. (The main issue there is my terribly primitive pick technique.)
