A *good* drummer knows *dynamics*. If he can't play to the room, then he isn't a good drummer. Period.

well, I'm probley the least person you want to get advice from but I would have to agree with BigOldHarry. My band has never had this problem cause our drummer is just superb at keeping the volume just right.
