I always veered away from tapewounds because I associated the nylon with ukulele strings. I got a really good deal on a set from my instructor and I am most impressed! I got D'Addario nylon tapewounds, in a badass black that really pops on my Olympic White bass. The tone has more bottom to it, and the nylon strings are so comfortable on my fingers. They're definitely something to consider. :bassist:

Completely different world from Nylon Acoustic Guitar strings or Ukulele strings as you now know!

I have a bass dedicated to them :D

    I love tapewound strings.

Here's Graham Maby playing tapes on Joe Jackson's Sunday Papers:

Crunchy, thunky, they have it all. Underrated.
