you guys realize, of course, that an integral element of every trendy fashion is the "General uprising" against it and what it "represents", right? by working to explicitly create a population of "haters", the perpetrators and perpetuators of any style attempt to give it traction to gain recognition and identity among all the other styles competing for attention space among consumers. this helps the "style" last longer than a style that has some passive fans but no active detractors, since detractors do way more advertising of a style than any fan does.
