Tattoos.. yay or nay.

I made up a drawing, but its pretty bad. Maybe Ill get a picture of it on the computer.

on a kind of related note:

the dude that did my arm said he once did a piece that looked awful, and he commented that it looked like a blind person couldve drawn it. as it turns out, the guys blind daughter or niece or something drew it.

im sure there would be a number of people here that would be happy to help if you threw up a scan with a concept/description. i might be one of those people, depending on the exact idea, as ive got my style, and have not thus far deviated from it, nor am i really looking to.

my **** doesn't really have any specific meaning to me, the fact that all but one of them my best friends (yes they are professional tattoo artists not home artists) have done. i actually just finished my shoulder and chest today from a dude who i've spent countless hours playing with his kids and helping his wife watch them, and who've driven me when i got to wasted to stand up. to me that means something. i like them, but its not for everyone. shazam.

I don't pretend to understand what it's like to live in an environment where you have to constantly seek approval from people who would judge you for making your own decisions, so I'll just leave out any advice regarding how to deal with your family. Instead, some basics about the long stretch of life that will render the past sixteen years to be almost forgotten and irrelevant.

You're still a kid; give it a couple years and then do whatever it is that you want to then. Just be aware that the life that you think that you'll lead probably isn't the one that you will lead, for better or for worse (OK, probably for worse; that's life). I happen to be a corporate wage slave, but I work in the video game industry, so while I may not be executive material (and it sure as hell isn't the ink that has anything to do with that! ;)), I can get by just fine with a few tats.

You, on the other hand, may end up in a career where they are detrimental. My ink has helped serve as a litmus test to keep me out of environments that would push me over the edge, but I'll never be the high dollar wheeler and dealer so it works for me. It might just screw you out of the opportunities that you discover you really want to be involved in. Get to know your adult self a bit first.

If I were to get one, its going to be when I in college and dependent upon if I major in something music related. I have no want, or need, to get one now.

Im not that 'toopid. :D

im in the army...under a year left thank god. but still i assume (no joke im serious) that i'll end up hoboing, at least for a while. especially if i don't get my **** together before i get out, meaning drinking. But i was also a piercing apprentice, and will probably continue that after this next deployment coming up shortly. so i don't worry about my tattoos.
