Taurus Tux MKII, compressor pedal

Anyone ever tried this compressor pedal? Invalid Link Removed
They're designed/build in Poland and in the Netherlands you can buy one(the MKII) for €118.
Looks like a nice pedal for a modest price.

Yes. I owned one of the first ones, got it with my abigar mk2.

It`s a really, really good compressor with A LOT of tonal range - covers a lot of different compression types from subtle to the rubbery vintage type that limits a lot but still sound cool.

I sold it because I always play with quite a bit of distortion and additional compression is simply unnecessary. If I`ll ever need a clean, compressed tone I`ll buy it again.

Thnx for the reply, seems like a solid unit then. Think I might buy one. How is the "noise" of this unit?

Yesterday I inserted the comp into the effects loop of my amp(Bugera BVP5500) and it even makes the comp sound better this way.
I wish I had bought this kind of pedal a long time ago (or maybe not, playing without one will force you to improve your technique).
There are several recordings from Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, Les Claypool, Mark King and the like where I could get close to their sound but there was still something missing.....compression. It fattens up the sound and sort of glues the notes together, I like it....A LOT :bassist::)

i know this thread is old but i was wondering how is the tux mkII holding up after this time? i'm thinking about buying one. also, is it a noisy compressor or quiet? could you post a demo? i can't seem to find a good demo on the tux mkII played with a bass... thanks in advance!!!

It's still holding up, it's a very sturdy unit.
I'm using it on a daily basis and can't play without it, it juices up the sound considerably.
The unit itself is very quiet, but when the source is noisy it will of course increase that noise.
I don't know if a demo would bring out the "sound" of the unit, it's always the combination of the unit+bass+player. All I can say is that I won't play without it, especially when playing slap-n-pop and more of that technical and dynamic stuff.
