Just to be clear, this video was done purely acoustically, no amps. Do far I've been able to resist the temptation, although I'm fully setup with both a mounted pickup system and a mounted mic.
The right hand technique is most like flat picking / cross picking, but no plectrum, both index and thumb are working independently. Very little finger movement though, most of the movement is in the wrist.
I'm at a festival this weekend and using this technique a lot. It's working out very nicely.

So the 3-day jamming festival mentioned above ended today. I've played DB for probably 8 to 10 hours, vastly more than my banjo or mandolin, and also played DB in jams at this festival, more than at any other festivals
My wife and I led out with our duet version of Alabama Jubilee and a few of my other alternate fingering solo songs in a fairly high level jam and they worked out really well.
Happily, judging by this last festival, I think I'm going to be playing DB a lot more in bluegrass jams.

I finally did some research to figure out how to pronounce this once and for all and it's pronounced...... Get this- MANYA!
